Dr. Tessa Schlickbernd obtained her Doctorate of Optometry in 2008 from Indiana University School of Optometry. Upon earning her doctorate, she completed a residency at the University Of Kentucky Department Of Ophthalmology specializing in ocular and systemic disease. She has served as an Adjunct Assistant Professor at the University of Missouri – St. Louis College of Optometry. She spent several years in private practice before joining Eye Specialists of Indiana in 2011, where she provided pre- and post-operative cataract care as well as managing ocular disease such as glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, dry eye, and macular degeneration.
Dr. Schlickbernd joined Plainfield Eye Care in 2016, bringing her experience in ocular disease and pre- and post-surgical care.
Dr Schlickbernd lives in Plainfield with her husband Kris, who is a psychologist, and their daughter, Mila. In her free time she enjoys reading, traveling and watching professional soccer.
