PEDIATRIC SPECIALIST TO JOIN PLAINFIELD EYE CARE

Plainfield Eye Care is pleased to announce the addition of Dana Donaldson, OD, to its staff of optometrists serving Hendricks County and the surrounding area since 1961.

After graduating from Avon High School, Dr. Donaldson attended Indiana University where she graduated with a degree in biology. She then worked for Eli Lilly before returning to obtain her degree from Indiana University’s School of Optometry.

Dr. Groninger says, “Dr. Donaldson worked at Plainfield Eye Care as a student and we are all excited for Dr. Donaldson to return to her Hendrick’s County roots, as well as to add a pediatric specialist to the practice.”

Dr. Donaldson joins the practice from her current position at Riley Hospital and Midwest Eye Institute in the section of Pediatric Ophthalmology and Adult Strabismus. She has been recognized by the President of the IU Medical Group as having outstanding patient satisfaction, being in the top 5% out of 500 physicians in the Indiana University Medical Group. She was also appointed as a Lecturer in Clinical Ophthalmology, Department of Ophthalmology, Indiana University School of Medicine, as well as lecturing optometry students during their ocular disease courses. She participated in several studies, including the IATS (Infant Aphakia Treatment Study) during her time at Midwest and Riley. Dr. Donaldson has volunteered for vision screenings for the Special Olympics and VFW (Veterans of Foreign Wars) and enjoys meeting outstanding and courageous veterans in the process. She is a member of the Indiana Optometric Association and the American Optometric Association.

Dr. Donaldson tells us a bit more about herself, “I live in Greenwood with my husband, Jeremy. We have three wonderful daughters: Emerson, Reagan, and Taylin. We are active members of Mt Pleasant Christian Church, where I volunteer in the child life ministries. We love to go on vacation, play outside, go on bike rides, play tennis, and watch the girls play sports. In my free time, I love to work out with P90x, kettle bells, and yoga. I am also a big IU fan and enjoy cheering for the Hoosiers!”

Dr. Donaldson will begin seeing patients August 4, 2015. Call Plainfield Eye Care at 317.839.2368 to schedule an appointment.
